Today was a good day - very busy and a lot going on at work. The teacher on one of the 1/2s was away so we had a relief teacher - she did not have much control over the class so I hung around in my time off to help out. I tried to do some testing with a few kids but only got a couple done. The assistant principal came in and was happy to see me there helping out. I finished the day helping as well and trying to get them into some kind of order - it really was mayhem - kids throwing things and making a mess everywhere. We finally got the kids to clean up a little and the relief teacher thanked me for helping. The class really was very naughty! To her credit she did not lose her cool with them and spoke in a lovely manner to the kids but she really had lost complete control by the afternoon. Again the ass principal thanked me for helping at the end of the day and said she felt much better knowing I had been there - that was super nice and made me feel valuable. It is those little things that continue to make me feel like I am part of the school and doing a good job.
Took Toby back to the vet after work and his ear is much better. I have to keep my eye on it over the next couple of weeks and if it seems like it is not completely healed then I have to call the vet and get a special ear wash to wash his ear every couple of days - he won't like that but hoping it won't be needed.
I have a bit or paperwork to get organised for work over the weekend but will probably leave that until Sunday - have a complete rest day tomorrow apart from housework. There is of course footy on over the weekend that I will watch - probably snuggle in with the doona and Toby as it is supposed to be a cold weekend.
