Re: Taking the plunge

Big appreciation you asking ( caring ) about pain after yesterday. @CheerBear . Hobbling so far, sore painful fingers plus. But moving is the best thing, just knowing when to stop, which no one ever gets right,

I have a Tai Chi DVD. I’m hoping to do some each day. It’s good for pain and depression. We’ll see. .???

Movie, popcorn and Maltese’s would win me over for sure @CheerBear . He does sound kind and thoughtful, I love the gentle.. I hope there’s distance here for all of you. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

I have heard others say the dips were not as low, long  or dark @CheerBear . Someone recently said they laugh at the storm. Foreign thinking to me, but humans can amaze with what they can achieve. Being prepared ( if that’s possible ), maybe aware is better, might be the helpful place. Yea, I get the gist.

Yes, I really want to get that rose bush out today  @CheerBear . My saw is way to big for the job, but it’s all I have. Lol. Of course it’s out front where all the other neighbors can see. Entertaining.😂😂😂😂

I hope school space sorting goes well. Hard find corners when there are few. You are doing well in so many ways.

Re: Taking the plunge

Good morning @Maggie  and @CheerBear

Mags I can vouch for how much tai chi helps.  Was doing it at a heated hydrotherapy pool twice a week pre-covid.  So good for so many aspects of us - balance, strength, mobility, mindfulness, left-right brain integration, relaxation brain chemistry etc.  Having said that I confess I've only done it a few times since being in iso, but I am comitted to doing it again once I can go out.

Hope today is satisfying for you both xx

Re: Taking the plunge

@eth  It was reading your experience with Tai Chi that got me interested and searching. There isn’t any at our pool unfortunately, but I watched part of the DVD, and it looks do able......I hope. I’m hoping to get motivated and regular. That sounds strange, but I can’t think a better word. 🥺🥺

I hope you are recovering after your huge shock. It takes time to reorganise that stuff. I hope today is good to you, you certainly deserve it. 💚💚💙💙💜💜

Re: Taking the plunge

All the kids are settled and busy at work now 🎉 Each morning two get calls from their teachers and it's usually a highlight of my day to listen to them chatting. It's so nice to hear the connection and encouragement they provide plus it gets them moving on their school work. I rearranged some furniture (again!) and now have a little table and chairs set up in my room so it really looks like a bedroom/office/second lounge room/classroom now, and I moved a big armchair that was in my room into the dining room which has created a cool kind of quiet corner. Off to a good start 👍 (in saying that it has now taken me 45 minutes to write this message as I stopped fourteen thousand times to help a little person understand explorers - I am definitely not cut out to be a teacher :face_with_rolling_eyes:).

@Maggie I really like that picture. It's so true and a great reminder of the wonky nature of things at times. I've had a picture stuck on my desk since I started my last uni course 4-5 years ago. It's been my motivation for a long time.

The missing piece has been the "paid for it". This picture was blue tacked to my desk cupboard and somehow magically even survived the removalists coming in to take our furniture away when we were in refuge. It's a bit torn and very faded now but still stuck there. I told myself I would take it down when I got to a place that was in the centre. I guess it's almost time 😉

* side note to say that I definitely think you can find purpose without all of those ⬆ things

Sorry you are in pain from yesterday. Getting up and moving because you know it will help would be very hard. As would knowing when to stop. That's a balance I don't think I would be very good at (I am not very good at).

I hope you find Tai Chi helpful. I think that's pretty cool to have a go at it! I love that your saw is too big 😂 Big over the top tools are fun haha. Hope the neighbours enjoy it also 😉

@eth how are things going for you today? I hope you get out to doing all of the things you were enjoying and finding helpful before this bonkers time, soon.

I'm doing a MH first aid course at the moment. It's something I have wanted to do for ages and it's moved online now which suits me so well. Really happy to jump on that before it goes back to face to face! Lockdown is way too appealling to me in some ways haha. I am hoping to work on a bit of it while the house is (relatively) chilled out this morning 🤞

Hope you both/all have good moments in your morning and day ❤

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear  I really like that quote/ pic. So true. The fact it’s survived the move plus, really says something.

Home schooling  is sounding very organised. Many mums are realising they are not cut out for teaching, but I think your own kids are a lot different to others peoples, plus having a classroom, all set up would be helpful.

Your second job atm is moving furniture to fit small spaces. You are doing well.

No one I know has the balance of when to stop before it’s too late @CheerBear . Often, it’s, let’s get as much done while we can, hoping the payback doesn’t come. It always does, which shows how slow a learner I am, and many others. Besides , I need coffee, so movement = reward.

One rose bush removed. ✔️✔️

First Tai Chi ( part of ) ✔️✔️

More coffee  coming up , and a rest.

I like the MH first aid online course. You might have some tips for us.

Lots of these incoming. 💞💞💞💞

Re: Taking the plunge

Hey @CheerBear  thanks for asking.  Mood-wise I'm not so down today, but still sorting out my computer and phone since the hack.  Bro has just helped me for nearly an hour and I'm feeling relieved and confused at the same time.  Have to have faith that he knows what he's doing, tho' he doesn't use a microsoft, he has a mac.

And still dodging working on my housing application.  Will do some more  on it tomorrow before a zoom about it with my support coordinator on Thurs.  I think the problem is partly that even 1 1/2 years later I'm still not over all the paperwork I had to do to get NDIS and this feels like a similarly huge task.  So much evidence to gather.  You might have been through this too.

Sounds like you're making progress on several fronts today.  Well done.

And you too @Maggie

Take care both of  you.  I just had to close all my tabs again, so please tag me anywhere you can see I've been involved or could help.  Thanks again.

Re: Taking the plunge

I hope you've had/are having some decent rest @Maggie ❤ Loving the ticks there 👍🎉😊

@eth glad to hear you're not so down today. It would feel very yuck to have had your things hacked into 🙁 Good to hear bro can help but it's tricky if it's left you feeling confused.

Ugh with the housing application 😑 That's a big one. I have had plenty of experience with bonkers paperwork like NDIS and housing. It does my head in and always frazzles me, plus hits on the emotional stuff too. I have paperwork for work and no motivation to do it which I really should have as it's to get paid 😏 I dread anything like it.

Big hugs. It's been a rough patch for you lately ❤

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks @CheerBear   Good to know I'm not alone with all the feels around must-do paperwork.  Hope you're getting paid well in your new position.

Re: Taking the plunge

Dropping off a warm cosy coffee this morning.
