Re: Christmas Loungeroom

The CUTEST @Zoe7 ❤️💜

Re: Christmas Loungeroom

I went to that Community Christmas lunch (today) - with Social & "Christmas Spirit" intentions @greenpea

It was a good intention (always is).

Yet it was nothing like as good as any of my past experiences (past years) of the same thing (same lunch).

Everyone on my table came in pairs (with a friend or partner) - they only talked to each other, not to anyone else on the table.

I went there on my own.

I made attempts at friendly conversation - yet there was none, it was not reciprocated.

So we mostly sat there in silence (without conversation) for an entire 3 hours.

There were no Christmas Decorations (of the room) this year - & no singers, no music, & no singing.

The Mayor & the State Attorney General were there - they had peas & corn (very simple meal), just like the rest of us.

I guess it was a "Community engagement" exercise (for them) - Maybe showing that they care?

In any case it was good to see those "Public Figures" there, along with everyone else.

The Mayor goes to that Christmas Lunch every year (on Christmas Day) - it is her Council's "Sponsored (special) event".

Re: Christmas Loungeroom

Thanks for your concern @greenpea and @TAB. I'm doing a little better this week. Between the respitory issues and swapping meds, it's been a rough time. I had a nice, relaxing day today though.

Hope you've both had a nice day 🎄💚🌻

Hey @Molliex hope today is bit better for you 😸

Re: Christmas Loungeroom

Wow, house-painting @Zoe7

All my wooden window-frames (more than 10) need painting, some bare timber is exposed.

One ceiling (room) needs painting - there are patches, where it's all flaked off (bare plaster).

I can't do it myself.

Re: Christmas Loungeroom

Hello @Shaz51 Glad to see you.

Are you looking forward to going away?

Has it become a bit stressful (in anticipation) to organise?

Leave it to neighbors @Adge Just Leave 😸 x

Re: Christmas Loungeroom

I rebuilt the fireplace a few years ago @Adge and still have the walls surrounding it to fix - lots of cracks to fill, sanding to do and then painting. If I get stuck into it all the preparation should only take a day but the ceiling needs a lot of work - flaking paint much like your place ...it looks like the last painitng job was done straight over what was already there without any care or attention to the preparation. The good news is I am painting the walls and ceiling the same colour so no cutting in needed ....that will save a lot of time.
