You do need to do what you can to look after yourself @Judi9877 It totally sucks that the envirnoment there is not a nice one for you and if sitting in the car is what you need to do then bugger the other people - do what is right for you
We'll be around for a while tonight (I will be anyway) so jump back in if you need or want to Happy to listen and support you tonight.
I love this time of year too - so much sport ...love the Big Bash (my Hurricanes won again yesterday - yea) and the tennis to come in January. We used to go to Melbourne every year to watch the Aus Open but haven't been for about 10 years. My cat is named after my favourite female tennis player that was around then - she has long retired though. My Mum suggested today that I get another cat and call it Barty after Ash Barty ...think my Mum loves watching her play more than I do LOL

I am working on Friday too (I am not in Retail) - I only had today & tomorrow off work.
Not enough, since I have not had any sort of holiday (or trip away) in over 2 years.
No $$ for a trip away, & no-one to do it with (I like company).
I don't do trips away or make holiday plans, without having company (to do it with).

Much like you @Adge no funds for any sort of holiday here either. I am the opposite of you though - I like doing things on my own and if I could take Toby everywhere with me I would be very content. I am actually looking forward to this time off or school holidays - need to have a complete break from work for a couple of weeks then get stuck into organising things for my class next year. That will mean tackling the spare room and finding and sorting all my resources to choose what to take in and what to keep stored.

Hi @Zoe7 @Adge @TAB @MDT and everyone passing through. Thanks for all the support- it’s so nice to know that people care! I’m okay, just sitting in the car reading a book called ‘The Book Ninja’ and listening to the Wolfe Brothers on the CD player. I’m really glad I listened to my sister for once and had a book in my bag- great for times like this!- as I’m not in a knitting mood. I really should get back into reading as I used to read lots as a kid- my parents preferred to give us money to buy books instead of lollies in the 1980s- and I remember reading books like the Babysitters Club and Enid Blyton books. Those were the days, before reading became the thing of doing it for academic purposes in high school and uni.

I used to love the Enid Blyton books as a kid too @Judi9877 ...and the Secret Seven and Famous Fives series 👍 I used to escape to the same places as in the books when I read them ...was my way of coping then I suppose. Now I much prefer biographies or crime novels ...not so much the adventure type books.

Tobes is sound asleep next to me now @outlander - poor little mite is worn out.
@MDT yes you are right buddy 👍 Might make it an early trip tomorrow so I can be home early as well. Of course I will take Toby with me so that also reduces the possibilites of where to go. I have left him snuggled in the car before but the weather has been much cooler and safe to do so - expecting it to be too warm tomorrow to do that.
