Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

Good question @AuntGlow I had to stop and think.

In letting go of fear and tension...

Breathwork and progressive relaxation are somatic and bring a few moments of relief

For it to move into thoughts and behaviours I'm not sure but I think faith and trust must be part of the picture.

@AuntGlow

I did pretty well last week with slowing down because I went away on a little trip. I even found the time to have two bubble baths.

For me I feel like I have to earn the time to slow down. @AuntGlow. if I get my list done for the day then I’m allowed downtime to enjoy.

I agree @Captain24 . It's not always healthy, but that's how I tend to get things done!

Good to see someone is on my page @tyme !!!!

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

I think this is perfectly valid - balance is important. We need that sense of productivity and achievement to feel fulfilled, but we also need opportunities to self-regulate so that we are able to feel well and able to achieve those goals/tasks. Perhaps the most important part is our approach? Are we practicing loving, compassionate assertion with ourselves, or is it more forceful and critical? I feel like there's so much to this discussion! Would love to hear your thoughts. @Captain24 @tyme

Oh my gosh, that sounds divine! I know you can't share where you went, but what was the vibe like? @Oaktree

Also - do you have a favourite type of bubble bath? 😍

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

I was thinking PMR would be good too, these sound like wonderful strategies! @Dimity

What other somatic practices come to mind? I always recommend intuitive movement/dance, it's so healing.

Faith and trust, yes. When do you notice trust is most present for you? 💛

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

I find if I get the right amount of sleep I function better of a morning @AuntGlow. I’m trying to set myself a morning routine and then go straight into my list. It takes a lot of self talk to get through to the end but at the end of it I know that the afternoon is mine to do as I please. I allow myself to do what ever I feel I want, whether it’s Lego, starting something new, catching up on tv, watching something on Netflix. I can just ‘be’ as I have done all the achievements I needed to do. There is no guilt. It’s the push that I need.

I guess you would possibly say it’s more forceful but ticking each thing of my list as it is done allows me to feel one step closer. I do allow myself to feel like each step is a little achievement.

Hi @AuntGlow

It was a lovely break away. 3 nights and 4 days.

I climbed a lighthouse!

The vibe was really chill. There were 15 of us total. Some workers and some clients. We just had a magical time. The weather was cold but it didn't really rain at all for day 2 and 3.

Bubble Bath? Any kind, usually whatever is cheap. Main thing is that it makes lots of bubbles. I just bought a Coles brand one and it was only $3. I only needed to use about 20mls a bath. I gave the rest to one of the workers with 4 Grandchildren living with her because my bath at home is broken. That is why I really enjoyed the baths. The bath in the apartment where I stayed was really deep.

Re: ✨Sunday Intention Setting✨

@AuntGlow intuitive movement/dance feels impossible for me..Lots of physical inhibition/restriction I think probably linked to cptsd and chronic freeze response. Years ago I had  a couple of Feldenkrais sessions that were a revelation. It occurs to me I could look for a practitioner. My gp last week recommended an exercise physiologist so it would be timely.

Trust? I have trust issues. It's quite a problem for me. And given the different aspects of my current situation trust is definitely absent for me atm. Present company excepted, of course!
