Holding on (to the past)

I should be asleep, but I still find myself looking at old photos of her on my phone. My life is grieving purpose.

Re: Holding on (to the past)

I feel with you. I find photos very triggering and have removed them from my surroundings. I hope one day to be able to look at them again, but for now it is too painful.

Re: Holding on (to the past)

Hi @Parzival

Grief is a curious beast, it reawakens memories, constructs scenarios and always is seen through gilded lenses.  If looking at photos gives you comfort, there is nothing wrong with that.  But you are a living individual who cannot remain in the past, you live, so you move forward.  The past is the past, yes to be remembered fondly, but the future is all yours to make and create.  So treat yourself kindly, make plans, do something you have always wanted to do.
