@AuntGlow I am a senior, and he is in year 11, and a keen musician, so professional, collegial and nothing untoward. We played at his home, cos he filled in for a mean snooty lady. I know his parents, now, but it was good to could make friendly quips and he was knowledgeable. The others were ongoing contacts in various degrees of getting to know each other, in my music community. I had a music girlfriend buddy more my age on the other side. I have been to 2 concerts as audience this month!
Today’s rehearsal went well, with me feeling jokey and moderately skilled and appreciated. Son is cooking at the moment. So grateful for a change… it has been rare that I could have fun doing things… so… good for me to gird my loins… and not be too doubtful and endlessly ruminating and worrying about my socialising.
Ten years ago when I joined forum, I was still very isolated for a few years. It seems to be changing.

@Appleblossom , thanks for sharing! That sounds amazing - this Christmas in July. Why not?
And to have this gorgeous young man sit next do you? Could you ask for a better Christmas present?
The power of connection is amazing.
Thanks for sharing - I'm smiling over here.

@tyme Hugs, thanks.
yes, it is good. I feel more seen, as a human being. I can make mistakes, have strengths and weaknesses and a joke. I used to be paralysed with fear of mucking everything up.
good luck tomorrow with your presentation.

This music community you are a part of sound so genuine, open, and loving! @Appleblossom
It seems like even though there is still some anxiety around socialising, the process of being met with openness and like-mindedness is allowing you to enjoy connecting again. 😍
