Good morning @Appleblossom just saw your post regarding doctors who have abandoned medicare. I thought it was just a way in which the government were dismantling medicare or just greedy doctors who don't care about the poor.
I since went to A Current Affair and they interviewed a doctor and they said a clinic is like "running a business" and after providing a breakdown of where the money was going - leasing premises, nurses, reception/admin and ongoing costs there was virtually no money left for the doctor. Something like $15 per patient visit. Whereas with a plumber they get an $85 call out fee plus so much more per half hour and materials!
Anyway its worth checking out this snippet as it shows why some doctors clinics have had to close because of this...

The split system installation guys are here doing the new split system and have been for an hour so hopefully it’s not too much longer before the system is up and running. It’s sunny but cold here in Melbourne so I’ve been spending my time working on a knitted blanket and keeping an eye on Mitz so she doesn’t escape through the area we’ve locked her in.
Take care!

Hey @Judi9877 I had a split system installed last year. Try and keep it at the lowest level for heating and cooling otherwise you won't have heating or cooling efficiency. In summer I kept the thermostat at 23 degrees for cooling and winter 18 degrees for heating. You will discover your bills won't go up. If you keep it at higher levels you will be using too much electricity. You can maintain a comfortable temperature at around the levels I mentioned and not put a dent in your budget. For every incremental increase you will use more and more power for nothing so it pays to just keep it at a minimal level
