Hi @Former-Member. Sorry to read your msg this morning that you are feeling a bit knocked out from yesterday. Hopefully you're having a nice quiet and restful day today. Or at least moments of that, in between everything else that needs to be done in between.
I have been having the odd decent day, but then it seems like I am promptly reminded that I have no right to be feeling any good, and I am transported right back down in the dumps again. A few things happening of late which have been quite triggering to my ptsd, so its been a bit of a roller coaster these past few weeks.
Yesterday however I got to my weekly yoga/pilates gym class, so I am quite pleased with myself that I have made myself go each week since I finished work 5 weeks ago. Give self a pat on the back! Today I did my weekly volunteer work in a nursing home, which is something I enjoy. Even though I find it hard at times.
Although its difficult to describe, right now I think I can accurately say that I am feeling overwhelmingly sad. Thats the thing with ptsd, you get the full book. Always anxious, often depressed, always stressing about something. Its only the extent of those things that ever varies. Life's hard right now.
I hope others are doing better than I am. Hi @NotLabelDefined @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @Gilgamesh @Former-Member @Mazarita @Former-Member and anyone else passing through.
Sending kind thoughts your way.
Sherry

Thankyou @NotLabelDefined . Never heard of either of them, but will certainly use Mr Google to explore your referenced correlation. Always nice to read any formalised versions of these concepts. Shall look into them and post a comment later. ๐

@Faith-and-Hope taking yourself out for breakfast... what a lovely gesture ๐ was it yum?
oops!!
@Former-Member hellooooooo to you, just about to read your post but so lovely to see you dropping in ๐ AFL season opens for real tomorrow night. Yay!!! Girlies GF on the weekend... not sure who I am wanting to win, like them both cos they were both underdogs and not supposed to win. Like Perkins, but Brizzy weren't tipped to win a game so... yeah hard one for me.

WOw @Gilgamesh
swapping "the alienation of reason for the liberation of desire". Thats succinct. I like that.
its not as simple as a conflict between good and bad.

@Appleblossom I loved that quote from Gilgamesh too. But when I read his words I had an intuitive understanding rather than an intellectual one. Can you do me a huge favour and explain to me what you think he meant by it? I think it was incredibly profound.

@Gilgamesh don't further explain it until I get @Appleblossom's response! I love it! I just want to know her thoughts discretely from yours ๐

Ahhh, yes indeed @Former-Member, the AFL proper gets underway on Thursday. I think my Swannies are playing on Saturday afternoon. And as for the AFLW final, I will be going for Adelaide I think. Although I wouldnt be upset if Brisbane girls got up. What a shame they arent playing on their home ground though. As top team it was Brisbanes right to host the final, but apparently there was some damage to the ground and its not up to playing on Saturday. I didnt hear where it was to be played now, other than that there is no home ground advantage to be had. Maybe Gold Coast, but not sure?
And of course the final test (that's cricket for the uninitiated among you) between India and Australia gets underway on Saturday as well. A bit day!
At least my Canberra Raiders got a big win in the NRL on the weekend. At last.
Sherry xx

@Former-Member yes PTSD is certainly a horrible swirling vortex of dark emotion that is for sure. That's why I use my Babushka Doll analogy.. it's just open one, open another, open another...
So glad you got to your pilates/gym class... releasing the endolphins.... yay! ๐ Know nothing about the NRL so cannot share your joy on that one. The AFLW.. yes moved from Gabba to Metricon, not fair really. They are blaming the curator but who knows, seems just odd all round on that one.
With your PTSD triggers, were you able to identify them? I always find that helps if you can get to the root cause of why they had the effect they did and try to work from there. Not always easy of course, and sometimes not even in a place to see clearly enough to get close to that.
