Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

Yes Marx said that @SmilingGecko . I share that view. You didn’t offend me. Each  to their own.. i am not a dogmatic Stalinist.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

Morning @Glisten . I’m a deeply committed Marxist. I was in the minority in my job despite the popular view that all academics are privileged lefties. I’m very anti-postmodernism the haven of many so-called progressive academics. I especially like Alex Callenicos’ critique of post-modernism. I can recommend some authors/books to you if you like. It is refreshing to see someone who has read Marx. Well let me know what you think. We get into trouble often from talking about politics on forums but surely this post is ok.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

No point having regrets @PeppyPatti . We all have them but you should shwke yourself free of them if you can.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@ENKELI  BAHAHA 😂 I love how you slip in the one descriptive for MM. Slays me every time 🤣

I don’t think it’s a head cold? Everything is blooming atm. They don’t make antihistamines like they used to.
Gone are the good ye olde timey days of coca leaves and kola nuts.

It might be a head cold?

I might have a little nap just in case.

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@PeppyPatti  Social skills are hard chickadee.

I had to learn cultural formality for work.

I have to mimic a person that is good at social skills. It’s like putting on a mask or playing a role.

I get overwhelmed and do weird shite and self sabotage.

Trauma adds to the difficulty of being me.

The old blokes at the Men’s Shed, for them a sign of acceptance and friendship is giving each other shite.

It doesn’t work with women or children.

Also humour from State to State is different.

People from NSW have a self deprecating sense of humour and a high level of sarcasm.

Where as people in WA take themselves more seriously.

Hence, I have shot myself in the foot on a number of occasions, when I thought I was being funny and that’s just with my own adult children 🫤

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

@GezzaP  more power to you comrade 🚩

Re: Tabaluga's 2.0

first bit sounds familiar @Glisten  re acting  and self sabotage

when i went to uni in 30s I didnt know how to talk to 20 something females

tales of self sabotage self doubt self loathing.this really attractive young thing ho was doing law or something besides subject we shared sat next to me on bus , with me feeling old, weird, sweat pouring off me conv ran out after few mins, then 20 mins of Awkward. Dont think she ever even made eye contact with me after that lol

another time I was sitting in a group on lawn when I picked some lawn and tossed it at person who was speaking. they said what did you do that for? I just stared. I didnt know why.

Throwback to childhood guess, when things going too well with someone you really want to be around, self sabotage
