Today we acknowledge National Sorry Day.
We pause to honour the strength, resilience and survival of Stolen Generations survivors.
We pay our deepest respects to those who did not make it home, to those who have passed, and to the families and communities who continue to carry their stories.
We acknowledge the ongoing impacts of forced removal, and the importance of truth-telling, healing and connection. May we continue walking together in respect—remembering those we have lost and supporting those who continue their healing journeys.
This year’s national theme, From Sorry to Action, reflects the need for urgent, tangible and measurable change within survivors’ lifetimes. This is a day that many hold in different ways — through reflection, connection, remembrance and quiet acknowledgement.
We recognise that for some, this day carries deep meaning, and for many, deep pain.
At Yarning Space, we hold space for:
Yarning Space Reflection
We invite you to take a moment today to reflect:
You are welcome to share, listen, or simply sit with this space today. There is no expectation to share — just be where you are, in whatever way feels right for you.
For those wanting to learn more or find ways to support healing, the Healing Foundation has resources available, or you can also find a National Sorry Day event near you.

Good 🌄 morning to you,
I think that we should all acknowledge and respect this wonderful country's indigenous culture and history every day.
Although I'm a "whitefella" I'm glad to be part of this thread.
I saw the "Walk for Truth" towards its conclusion this morning and was truly thankful and inspired.
While many ask "what's the point, nothing changes?" we must never stop talking on the hope that we will be truly heard.
From my spirit to yours,
