Hello @Appleblossom and @Faith-and-Hope , @Anastasia , @Emelia8 , @Snowie

and others visiting this thread.

Love the Namitjara painting of the tree and ranges

It is like the painting of the tree and ranges has the effect of clearing some of the fog from the brain, at least for a short time and a little respite.

The reply pad seemed to have a mind of its own and was refusing to comply with my requests to change font, lines and spacing, etc. So have changed over to word processor and I hope problem has been solved. The little things sent to try us when there are much bigger issues to be addressed.

Oh what a strange life!!

With Concern, Care and best Wishes to All

Re: Far and Away

@Appleblossom School is not for everyone but the fact you went back when you wanted to is a good thing. I was pushed towards teaching from an early(ish)age but I was a bit of a rebel (go figure lol) and fought against what was the norm or expected a lot of the time. Just like you - survival was my first thought but I also threw myself into study and sport so I had very little free time to be in a position I would be hurt by others. That meant for me cutting off all ties to anyone for a long time. I had friends but didn't really socialise.  That changed once I began playing softball - I was truly lucky to have such a wonderful mentor (a few actually) but one in particular was another team member (a lot older) - she took me under her wing, had me stay with her and her family a lot and I felt much freer ...and safe. There were no 'friends' from high school - we all went our own ways - me probably further than most. Only a handful of those I went to school with went on to further education so that separated us immediately - and quite frankly I did not want any part of that world I had come from ...much like you. My escape was study. I started studying law but changed after the first year - it wasn't for me... neither was teaching but here I am. It took a long trip overseas where I was completely free from everyone to have that space to find myself and what I wanted to do for myself.

...and Yes Hon - you survived and here you are - spreading your wisdom and life to help others - so whether you 'celebrate with abandon' or just live how you want - you are doing it and that matters  Heart

Hugs @Zoe7

Thanks for sharing.

Sport can be great.  I did a little, my daughter did a lot.

Travel is a wonderful teacher.

Heart

My travel lead me back to study.  It was organic the way I chose subjects, a mix between what was on offer and what appealed.  I had no grand plan or specific desire for career.  In a way I was lucky.  I had no guidance, but also no pressure or expectations. I was breaking new ground.

Thank you dear Friend, for walking with me for so long.

My pleasure @Appleblossom Heart I still fonly remember our earliest chats about life and everything - it helped so much - and sharing our perspectives on things was a great release from 'life' at the time so know that made a massive difference to me Heart
